About This Album –

Two of the very greatest of modern trumpet stylists are featured here. Clark Terry and Kenny Dorham have very different jazz backgrounds, but both are firmly experienced, brilliantly talented and imaginative – and with few equals at the basic jazz art of digging in and blowing. Terry has been featured with some of the finest big bands: Count Basie, Quincy Jones, and for eight years with Duke Ellington. Dorham is strictly a small-band star: with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers; as Clifford Brown’s successor alongside Sonny Rollins in the Max Roach group; and as leader of his own combos.
