About This Album –
This one is for those who like their guitar hard-driving, down-to-earth and swinging. Mundell Lowe has long been in demand as a top radio and TV studio musician, but as jazz fans know, that hasn’t dampened his jazz spirits in the slightest. On the contrary, it makes him all the more eager to make the most of a relaxed “blowing” session like this one. Equally valuable in keeping things in a low-down groove are Billy Taylor, for years one of the very best and most popular to jazz pianists; and Gene Quill, an outstanding young alto man who has worked with top groups, both large and small.
